I'll be returning to beautiful San Diego, CA this year to speak at Adobe MAX 2016, Adobe's massive creativity conference. Here are the session details!


3D: A Graphic Designer's Playground

Join designer Allison House as she introduces 3D as a visual sandbox for designers and illustrators. Learn how to explore form, composition, and repetition quickly and easily in 3D space without the need for budget-breaking hardware or 3D renderers. You'll also find out how to create basic animations and export to Photoshop to enhance lighting, color, and detail.

As Allison shows you how to play in the third dimension, you'll learn:

  • The uncomplicated 3D and post-processing techniques behind her colorful, highly stylized art

  • How to bring graphic design to life with simple and compelling 3D animation

  • What apps like Photoshop and Illustrator have in common with 3D software

  • How Allison animated Tweedy's "Summer Noon" music video just weeks after discovering 3D

  • Why cutting-edge 3D platforms like VR and AR need strong visual designers

I had my surgery last week, by the way! There were no complications, but I'm not sure I can call it a success. The surgeon had me on the operating table, opened me up, and decided not to perform the procedure at all.

I wish I could tell you why, but I was in recovery and drugged out of my skull when he explained it. 😛 I'll find out more soon. Until then, I'm taking it easy while my body takes the reigns.
